Italy to pay people to move out of their parents homes.

Very interesting article. It appears that in developed countries like Canada, USA, Australia, France, England, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland; young adults are living with their parents until middle age due to deck being stacked against them when it comes to the economic realities such as high cost of living, lack of good paying opportunities, and simply a lack of decent jobs. The job market is especially tough right now in European countries even more so than in other Western countries and is stressing the social systems of Europe which won't last forever.

I read someplace that 8 out of 10 college grads in the US are boomeranging back home due to the lack of something to do that adequately pays. You can graduate college today and not find anything that even remotely offers a living wage, that is where you break even with your necessities met. When I was graduating a couple years ago, most of my class mates were either moving home or going on a gap year to explore more possibilities. Needless to say, nearly all of them wanted to travel to Florida and European countries and a few did. A couple found decent work in Florida, but those who explored Europe came home to mom and dads house broke, but had a great time over there. As many of you know, a college degree is not the ticket to the good life like it was just 15 or more years ago. It's proving to be the ticket to big debt and becoming a displaced worker living at mom and dads during adult years. I have been there myself in hard times such as in 2002 upon being laid off without employment insurance and right after I graduated college in 2005 in a cold job market. I left home again after spending 2 months on moms sofa and got a low paying job in a big box store to move back out on my own while I further explored other possibilities such as teaching English. So here I am again exploring more possibilities without boomeranging to my sisters place since I don't want to stay in Korea for many years or the rest of my life.

I see nothing wrong with moving back on family property since people have been doing this for thousands of years during hard times or all the time. For thousands of years, whole families lived on the same property which allowed economical living for everyone. Every family needs a pile they own for any one to come back to in the time of need or when it is time to retire as young generations won't be able to realize home ownership which I believe includes myself too. Unfortunately, there is nothing left for me to inherit.
