Is it normal for your contract to say pay rate begins on the 26th of the contractual period and first pay is on the 26th of the next month?
Wouldn't that mean that I am working for free until the 26th of this month? |

Certainly get it cleared up with your boss, but my pay period is from the 17th of the month to the 16th of the following month, paid on the 17th. So I arrived September 17th, and was paid for my hours from September 17th until October 16th -- which was then paid on October 17th. Since then, I am paid on the 17th for the previous month's work. If I do not renew my contract, I will finish my last day of work on September 16th, and will get my pay for August 17th through September 16th on September 17th.
To me, that sounds like what you described. You work before you get paid -- in the US, you work the week then get paid at the end, or the two weeks...here it is a month....
If that is NOT what you meant, then I apologize for not understanding, and would ask you to clarify. |

Geez, I already had my doubts about my contract. My recruiter told me I would get paid 2.3 mil for working 2-10:30 weekdays. The school official said he never heard anything about 2.3 and it will be 2.2. The flight is booked, though, for Thursday and I am tired of waiting. |
