Dear Members,
Would someone kindly provide a forum link or guide me to the "expat tax discussion" specifically for US/CA residents? I'm having a prolonged retarded moment this morning and the SEARCH function ain't cooperating.
I know US expats can take advantage of the Foreign Income Exclusion Act however, apparently CA resident are still liable for State taxes. I desperately need clarification as taxes are due next Monday!
Perhaps there'e already been a discussion on this?
Thanks in advance .. |

Evading Taxes is illegal. Avoiding taxes however is legal. Try refering to yourself as a tax avoider. |

Thought I'd share the following contribution from a generous forum member:
"You need to show that you have moved to Korea and intend to stay there. That can be by applying for residency, driver's license, etc. If you are out of CA for the full year, it is generally accepted that you do not pay State tax.
This is a lower standard than using the residency test on the Federal side." |

That's true, but be prepared that they may still harass you, even in Korea. Good luck~ |
