I use a die and six adverbs: always, never, usually, sometimes, hardly ever (or seldom, rarely) and never.
I write them on the board in decending order with associated percentages, label them 1 through 6, then write the question, "Do you ever ____?" and add responses "Yes, I __ ", "No, I ____"
Students ask each other questions, toss the die, and answer accordingly. I try to keep the questions as harmless as possible.
ex.
Student 1: "Do you ever brush your teeth?"
student 2 rolls a 6: never
Student 2: "No, I never brush my teeth."
My students seem to have a lot of fun with this one. |
