I edited my OP. Philadelphia's Jesse Boulerice has been suspended for 25 games for cross-checking Vancouver's Ryan Kesler in the face.

The article is here:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/hockey/nhl/10/12/bc.hkn.flyers.boulerice.ap/index.html

An extended video is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-Y3x0mr_Ik

And video and interviews from ESPNNews here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICMtL-HGFQs

In 1998 Boulerice was charged with assault for swinging his stick like a baseball bat at another player while in the OHL.

That was disgusting. I hope they throw him out of the league. He's a fucking nobody and won't be missed. The asses team was winning 7-2 when he did it as well.

If you can't beat 'em, ya beat 'em.
If you can beat 'em, beat 'em any way.

Laughing

He will most likely get at least 20 games for it.
Hope the Canuck is ok.

Flyers are looking good so far.
Anything is better than last year.

They will make the playoffs this year.
Mark my words.

Comparing it to Downie's, he should get a lot more. That's why Downie's suspension was too harsh.

Buddy could be out for almost the rest of the season, I'll bet.

now THAT'S worthy of a 25-game suspension... he should just retire because someone's gonna put his lights out the next time he plays the canucks...

This is why I'd like to see suspensions count against team rosters. They should chnage the ruls so that you cannot replace a suspended player, but rather have to dress one less player for each suspended player on your roster for the duration of the suspension. Flyers would be down to 16 skaters for the first quarter of the season at this point.

It makes no sense to suspend someone if the team can just call up another player anyway.

I don't follow hockey but it looked like a forearm to the face. You get 25 games out for that in hockey?

He had his stick in hand when he crosschecked him. That's beyond a normal crosscheck and should have no part of the game. Crap like this should be cause for being banned from the game (and I'm someone who loves the physical aspect of hockey too)

Now, that was ugly. I think his hit and the pre-season one on McCammond (or whoever) that got 20 games are in completely different areas. To say this hit was worthy of only 5 more than the other one, what a joke. This ass clown should be kicked out of the league.

unfortunately the canucks don't play the flyers again this year due to the unbalanced schedule.

kesler's fine. he stays healthy, this should be his breakout year.
