i don't care if you hate radiohead ... their experiment of releasing an album directly to their fans (through downloads or boxed sets) is very good idea.
i just downloaded my copy from their site.
you can nominate to pay whatever you want ... even if it's nothing.
i paid 5 pounds (about $11) because i like radiohead and i think this is a great new model for the music industry, so i think we should support it.

It's a 160bps mp3. I wouldn't pay for that even if I liked Radiohead (I've never heard them and am totally comfortable with that). |

I'm over halfway through the album, it's good, chilled, Radiohead. It carries the beat better than the odd Amnesiac album. Thom sounds like he's enjoying himself more these days, in a strange way. |

Well, the smackdown to the record companies was dealt quite a while ago with the advent of filesharing and torrents. Radiohead('s management) has just found a clever way to capitalize it.
Which is not exactly a progressive act... |

This is more like labour sticking it to management, where filesharing programs and torrents were the consumer sticking it to the industry. There's a difference, and even though I'm a download kind of guy myself, I appreciate what Radiohead is trying to do here; cutting out the middleman. That being said, they can only do this because they already have a massive following, thanks in part to their previous record label (or labels, I really don't know much about them).
Anyway, very good album on the first listen. Liked the first 4 songs a lot better than the rest of the album though, but I think a lot of the stuff I wasn't crazy about is the kind of stuff that the hardcore RH fan will eat up. Will probably grow on me once I give it a few more listens. |

The majority of out-n-out radiohead haters are people who are still claiming, "Jefferson Starship is, all-in-all, a good band!"
If you don't like them, fine.
But, If you don't like them, you probably don't know anything about their "management" or reason for relesing a free CD.
So, in turn, you should, probably, stfu. |

A statement fiendishly clever in its intricacies.
Nice of you to add your well-developed, expert opinion to the discussion. |

who were you quoting?
your clever "quoting" and response made no sense.
What are you trying to say?
Just come out with it. |

Yes,
But as you can see, that is not what I said.
You quoted me, and then ever so tactfully, changed my words.
A homebred genius if ever I should see one.
if you can stop scratching at your paws and turn off Gracie Slick for a few minutes, you may be able to respond to the previous query.
Which, judging on your posts, is unlikely, but, please try.
You can do it! |
