Are the once-a-month �lining up� days, when Beijing citizens practice getting in line to put on a civilized facade for the Olympics, doing any good? Apparently not, if the experience of TT�s Shanghainese tai tai is any indication. The largest Ikea store in the city has an elaborate taxi rank system at which many people do choose to line up. But queue-jumping is also common. After waiting in line, Mrs. TT was about to step into the allotted cab when an elderly couple wandered up and climbed in. When asked politely to wait in line, the reply....

Ha. Funny coming from an elderly couple.

Yeah, queuing in China - something I never saw in the year I lived there.
