Is anyone else being eaten to death by mosquitos at night? I bought one of those deadly taser like electrified tennis racquets which kills about 20 per night but when the lights are out all I hear are the death calls of those little bastards. |

Damn dude...I know how you feel. Luckily, it's getting cold; colder than last year. They should be gone soon enough.
Basically, they're squeezing in through your windows. Find some caulk and get busy. |

Korean mosquitos don't bite me. I think they're racist. Now I know how blacks felt in America before equal rights. |

Yea, I was getting at least one a night up until 2 nights ago. I think that when they are small, they can pop through your window screen due to being attracted to you. They love to bite feet, ankles, and legs which makes you itch while you lose sleep. I noticed these mosquitoes are very good at evading your swat attacks, because they are capable of taking evasive action to avoid death and then one single mosquito can seem like many of them as it bites you through the night.
Little annoying things made me lose lots of sleep this past Summer as they like to bite you as soon you turn off the light and especially if you are watching a movie at night in the dark. |

I've been using those curly, smokey things for the whole summer while I'm sleeping. Have no idea how good they are for you.
My room in the morning always looked like a bunker in Nam. Can't see sheet! |

Korean mosquitos are not bad compare with American mosquitos, American mosquitos have sent me emergency room twice, my hand has swelled like a pumpkin. It happened within 6 months in America, however it seem not bad now. |

This is the best news I've heard in weeks as I thought that I was the only one getting attacked by the little b******s on a regular basis.
I too use those curly smoky things, which seem to do the trick in my apartment. However, I got bitten about 12 times in one night last Sunday after spending the night at a friends pad. My arms, legs and back are covered in large red marks. They itch like hell too. |

i have two windows. they're both the small 3ft wide 2 ft high deals. one has a screen, one doesn't. (building regulation they say - my ass).
so i have a choice: one window open and suffer a really stuffy apartment, or two open, slightly less stuffy, plus tons of mosquitos.
i've been choosing stuffiness...might be better to just keep the damn AC on. |

Yeah, "building regulaltion" equals just one more way to cover the incompetence of a lazy apartment manager.
At Homeplus or possibly E-Mart, there are rolls of screen material for sale. You can make your own screen and therefore leave both windows open and leave the A/C off to save on CO2 emissions and save a little money at the same time. |

i built my own makeshift screen/mosquito net on the window, but it just doesn't cut it (i leave the bottom unsealed so i can reach under and open/close the window and i think thats the problem) |

Buy a mosquito net and hang it over your bed. |

I've read somewhere and actually experienced this:
Once a mosquito bites you and is full(hopefully you'll get him before that point) they stick to the walls or ceilings to digest the blood. The other night I woke up in the middle of the night after getting bit. Sure enough the damn mosquito was sitting on the wall next to my bed. I smashed the m*therf*cker and all that was remaining was a red spot on my wall....give it a try if you've already been bit. THis probably won't work with more than one or two at a time... |

This happened on holiday in Greece. I was being dive bombed all night. Got one on the wall with my pillow, there must have been about a pint of A+ blood adding to the decor.
It's only female mosquitoes that bite. They need it to reproduce. The males are crap they don't do anything. They are like male spiders, they just sit round drinking beer and watching football. I found this out in Sweden, if you look carefully they don't have a dealy so it'd give them some peanuts and the remote. |
