| Your original degree is not required for a renewal, however its nice to have an original copy handy for the frequent crackdowns on forgeries. |

I applied with EPIK using a "replacement diploma" just as you describe and had no problems whatsoever with EPIK. I went through Fukuoka to get the visa where there was also no problem regarding the replacement diploma. The important thing is that it is signed by the proper people at the university and bears the university's seal. The seal should look just like the one that is on your sealed transcript envelope. The modern seal should say university, not college, which would also be a conflict with the transcripts. Further, if you are requesting the replacement diploma from the university I am sure they will also send a new set of sealed transcripts as well.
bottom line....seems like no problem. |
