We have a new student at my school -- a six-year old blonde-hairded, blue-eyed girl. Her father is one of the few Americans at a nearby base, and it was going to either be my school or the public school.

The other kids seem to like her okay. Unfortunately I had to move her out of my advanced kindergarten class because she can't read yet. Even in the middle level she doesn't want to put in the effort to learn how to read.

I hope it works out.

did she move from somewhere else within korea?? if not, she's probably still adjusting to everything and that could have a lot to do with her not trying hard.
people think kids are oblivious to stuff like this, but i'm sure she must be noticing ppl staring at her all the time (esp with blond hair). i'd just give her some time to get used to everything here

Wow. Not being aboe to speak Korean to her classmates (I'm assuming she doesn't) could make life tough for her.

I hope she gets some good breaks.
