What's the diff between "gyopo"(교포) and "Kyobo"(교보)?
Was the one (books/life insurance) started by the other?
I don't have a clue, honestly.... |

A gyopo is an ethnic Korean who was raised abroad. Kyobo is the name of a big company. They are different words. |

gyopo(교포) : oversea korean
kyopo(교보) : insurance company name (located in Gwangwhamun)
Actually, 교보 is abbreviation of 교육보험(education insurance)
And..even many koreans don't know the exact meaning of 교보
교보 was orignally education insurance company.
Also, it's known for 'bookstore' |

It's kind of like the difference between "beer" and "peer." They're totally different words. |
