What follows is a chain email letter I received recently from a relative back home. It expresses my sentiments--and those of the tens of thousands who've received it and passed it along--precisely. Yes, I know this story's getting old but recenlty the NAACP tried to expose this letter writer as a "bigot" by picketing outside his home.
Sorry, but it ain't PC, and I ain't goin' ta try to doll it up for you jittery types out there. Inhale, exhale, then read on:
Dear Dr. R L White, Head of the Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP,
My name is James. I am 27, and I am neither a member of your organization nor a resident of Atlanta. Normally I wouldn't bother you, but then I came across this article, and it compelled me to write.
Since I am white, I am going to tread carefully, so as not to offend your
gentle sensibilities. But, Dr. White, you are a dumb as-s.
Speaking for white people everywhere, let me fill you in on something. This case was not a race issue. It was about killing dogs. And if there is one thing people don't stand for, regardless of race, it's killing dogs. You
compared it to deer hunting. Again, Dr. White, you are a dumb ass. When
was the last time a deer greeted you at the door when you got home from work? Or curled up next to you and gently nuzzled in to take a nap? Dogs are pets and some help us hunt, you moron. They aren't meant to be killed for sport. The failure to make this glaring distinction only makes you look more stupid!
Sorry, I lost my temper there.
Here's the thing, Dr. White. The reason people were outraged by this was
because he killed dogs. If Brett Favre had done it, the reaction would have been the same, I guarantee you. The difference is, if Brett Favre had done this, you wouldn't see white supporters rallying behind them, proclaiming he was innocent in the face of mountains of damning evidence, supporting him regardless of the outcome.
Let me let you in on a secret about white people; when one of our own makes us look bad, we condemn him and disown them. I suggest you adopt a similar policy. If your group's mission is truly to advance "colored" people (your word, not mine) you'd disassociate from the idiots in your race. It can't go wrong, trust me.
Anyway, Dr. White, I don't want this to come off as racist, because it
isn't. Michael Vick is a despicable person who happens to be black. The
sooner you realize that, the less of a dumb ass you'll look like.

Stop being so politically correct. Blacks don't think you are "one of them"; they realise you are a white, and that means you don't have the same frame of reference that they do. It doesn't mean you can't be friends, or that you are a racist. It just means you are white, and you aren't black. You probably have less rythm, you probably have less muscle mass, and you probably walk a little stiffer. That's alright.
Stop trying to be the White apologists. Roll with it. Most Blacks do. And in this particular case, the NAACP needs to pull it's head of it's asss, because it is not being accountable, but is instead pandering to the lowest common denominator, which is pretty much what the OP's letter said, and which is pretty much spot on. |

So, let me get this straight...
I'm a white apologist because I don't think some moron who thinks he's being funny but comes of as an idiot should speak for me? I don't necessarily disagree with what was said in the letter. However, you want to talk about pandering to the lowest common denominator? The author of that fine piece of literature was aiming for the NASCAR crowd.
I don't have anything against NASCAR, but I'd hate for someone to come up to me and say, "You know whut? I betchoo like Nase-car." And, I hate for some jackass who writes like George Bush talks to say he represents all white people. Yet, based on your post, you appear to be one who appreciates stereotypes. Therefore, you can let Mr. White speak for you.
Personally, I'd rather speak for myself. |

The key words are "interim" and "CEO."
The letter was addressed to a CHAPTER president in Atlanta.
