I checked the FAQ and all the posts are 3 years old and all seem to mention long holidays. I'm looking into working at a public school next year, but all I see are ads for schools with 14 days (2 weeks, whatever) holiday. I'd be really pleased if there are still ways to get more days off.

If you know anything or have any useful info please let me know. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the help from the forum.

14 working days. So, basically its 3 weeks of vacation.

There are other ways to get days off. Using sick days is one of them. Another is to work overtime and have overtime hours go into more vacation days.

Depends on the province.

I get 28 days + national holidays + odd days here and there (half day today and half next Tuesday) because of tests etc

Thanks for the help. So it looks like the only real perk is that you only have to work about 22 hours. Anything else?

22 hours teaching, you also have to prep. Between my high School and middle school, I'm there for 45 hours per week.

14 days is pretty standard, but there is another province up North that gives out 30-days holiday apparently.

I'm working in a public school in Seoul, and when I was hired, 21 working days was the standard contract. I was hired this past February. Maybe they've changed it back to 14, but when I was hired, it was 21 working days plus National holidays. Works out to 4 weeks paid vacation - two in the summer and two in the winter.
