I've been going to Caribou Coffee in Shinchon and Ewha regularly over the last few months and taking advantage of the free wireless without any problems. I've had no problem with email or IM in all of that time.

Today however I came to get some work done (away from my kids and other household distractions). I can not access my gmail or hotmail accounts additionally windows messenger is not working. However the rest of the internet is working. It seems strange to block email access to two of the largest free email providers on the planet. I can sort of understand messenger as you may use up a ton of bandwidth file transferring or some such thing (even though that is unlikely).

Anyhow I'm a little disappointed as I need to use email to check a couple of student assignments and I also wanted to be on MSN in order to chat with my folks back in Canada.

Anyone else have this problem at Caribou? Can you recommend an alternate coffee shop with free wireless? Starbucks has wireless but you have to pay for a nespot account and it's not worth it to me.

There's a place near Seolleung Station, exit number 5, with free wireless access and organic coffee. Cafe des Verts.

7 Monkeys Coffee across from the new Mega box theater, near the train station, has free wireless I believe.
