I have a question about speaking Korean in front of Elder Koreans, but not directly to them.
I know the deal when speaking directly to elders like your Principle etc, but if you are in a situation like a volleyball game and would like to make an indirect exclamation of joy or disapointment such as 'great move' 'no good' or 'good' will the base verb 좋다/좋아 do or must you conjugate it as if speaking to elders i.e. 좋습니다?
I am very confused with this as I would like to communicate verbally in the game but feel that the respectful conjugation just doesnt come off right. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

As long as it is obvious that you are not speaking directly to them it is okay to use lower forms. |
