You have to go to the Embassy and do it in advance. Give yourself a week just in case. |

Your travel agent should be able to take care of it for you too. At least kangsantravel.com does. |

All the socialist dictatorships in E. Asia(Burma, China, Vietnam, Laos, N. Korea) require that Western travellers have visas. |

So whats the easiest way to get a visa? Will most travel agents in Korea arrange it? Where is the embassy? |

You must have a Visa. Goto the Consulate and it will take about 3 days for them to process. You might want to get a multi entry visa just in case. the cost is the same. 30 days is the max time for your visa too. |

I don't know why I can't send anymore PMs. I get a message that says I must make 25 post before I can PM anyone, yet I've been PMing all this time.
anyway you need a passport, photo and visa form before you goto the consulate. the address is
28-58, Samchong - Dong, Chongno-Ku,
110-230, Seoul
Tel: (82-2) 738 2318 / 739 2065

We can't tell people to search for answers if they are all in PM's. |

It's not just socialist dictatorships in E. Asia where you need a visa, you also need one for Cambodia even though it's technically "democratic."
Laos is communist. They'll give you a 30 day visa on arrival. It takes a few minutes. You don't even need a picture.
China? That depends on where in China. You don't need one for Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan.
N. Korea, duh! Good luck getting one!
Burma, WTF! Who would be crazy enough to even consider it these days - unless you're a very brave journalist with a death wish? That said, it is/was visa-free at various different borders with Thailand. Borders were closed for a while at different points. I don't know if they've been opened back up.
Indonesia is a Republic and you must get a visa on arrival!!!
Malaysia is run by a Monarchy and you don't need a visa to enter.
Brunei is run by a monarch but you don't need a visa there either.
Singapore is run by the Chinese Mafia (pay no attention to what they proclaim) where there is no democracy and you don't need a visa to enter. They'll give you a 90 day exemption like Japan does.
Yeah, Vietnam, you need a visa to enter. Go to their consulate. |

Well Taiwan being part of China is sort of debatable... |
