okay so everything's done....i sent my docs got my visa and my plane ticket and i am supposed to leave in 6 hours...but im not going.
i just got bad vibes i have no idea why...it was a little bit about how i felt like the school was stalling...i was supposed to be there almost a month ago...in addition to not wanting to go back to korea *i already did a year*...i almost feel like its like jail. they say it pulls you back...and it was definately pulling at me..but i think ive escaped the grasp long enough to come to my senses.
god. what a fork in the road...no matter what i decide..i'll always wonder what would have happened had i chose the other option
thoughts? |

All I can say is that you better not be the girl from New Zealand who was coming to work in Anyang... |

Now you're being an irresponsible tool. The school's already invested time and money in you, you've signed a contract, and then you want to change your mind at the last second? How would you feel if you'd signed your contract, and six hours before you were supposed to get on the plane your employer called you and told you not to bother? Or, even better, if you actually flew over and the school had found someone else?
Don't be a jerk. It makes us all look bad. |

well the school did that to me twice already! they changed my ticket one day before i was supposed to leave 2 times!
which makes me weary of the school...i think it's new and might not even be opened...it is just a reminder of all the korean bullshit i had to put up with last time |

they (the hagwons) already do that kind of thing all the time. i'm really unsympathetic to their "plight" - and this guy sounds like a runner anyway. better not to show up at all than to show up just a couple weeks. |

but only ridiculously elaborate ways. Beware the cracked mug of vodka, and the monitor, and the flaming alcohol trail, and the knife block over which a towel is draped, and the gas leaking from the stove, AND the chair that topples over that drives the knife into the person to finally kill them. |

I would have told them not to bother me at the first time they reneged. |

well done..instincts are usually correct.
However sometimes I've felt like backing out of some trip or adventure, and later been very happy that I didn't. |

Happened to me with a Japanese job. Not six hours, but two weeks before... but well AFTER I had already sold my apartment and most of my possessions (computer, water bed, etc). Took the ticket and switched it for the "closest country to Japan".... as so goes how I got to Korea. |
