| exactly what does happen if something gets taken for taxing purposes? What's the procedure? I have something arriving and don't want to be blindsided. |

A note is left in place of the item and you must pay, dearly, then it will be delivered.
Or you are left guessing. Especially if the item is delicious and no longer available (this happened to a friend of mine). |

What's the best way to package stuff so it can easily pass, intact, through customs?
I'm building care packages for myself based on what friends have told me I won't be able to find. They include...
Camel Special Lights and Parliament Lights (Cartons, oh my)
Shampoo (special stuff for my dandruff)
Deodorant(half liquid/half solid stuff, it's like an angel licking my armpit)
etc.
etc.
My point being that they will most likely appear new, even if removed from the packaging. Will SK customs go by an invoice if one is provided, thereby avoiding digging through box? (probably not?) |

Seperate the smokes within the main box. Don't keep them in the carton. Don't send the whole 10 packs but just five, say.
Even if invoiced or registered they may still inspect. But, five packs should be fine.
Not so many items of one product. Just a couple. |

Well, I took someone's advice and had my parents take the Ipod out of the box, mark it used, etc.
What's freaking me out is that it's electronic, and it's an ipod, and it's better than Korean electronics, which seems to be the only thing that Korean Customs checks for:

Drugs
Sex stuff |

Umm, yeah; in terms of interface, design, size, and capacity, yes. If you want a clunky interface, something that looks like either a brick or a cheap jelly bean, and comes with features you'll never use (if I wanted an FM radio, I'd buy an FM radio, thanks), by all means, get something other than an ipod. |
