Here is some information about our school.

YES Youngdo English School first opened its doors in 1987. Its
ongoing efforts to improve English education in Korea resulted in the
establishment of Youngdo Education Corporation in 2001. Today there’s
a community of 20 campuses with just over 240+ Native English
instructors in Seoul and the greater Seoul area. Youngdo English
Schools are unique from other franchise schools because we operate
under a one-ownership system to uphold the quality of schools and
security for the teachers.

Youngdo English School also puts a great deal of emphasis in the
curriculum. The R&D center constantly strives to improve the
curriculum that allows for growth and development of both the
instructors and the students.

Today, YES Youngdo has become one of the most respected and
successful English academic schools. It is also the largest
non-franchised school in Korea today.

Working conditions:

- 30 teaching hours per week (Monday through Friday)
- No Saturdays and no split shifts.
- Teachers must come to work by 2 p.m. Classes start at 4 p.m. and
the last class ends at 10 p.m.
- Students range from 3rd grade elementary to high school (No
kindergarten or nursery)
- 14 students max. per class
- Contract term: one year
- Curriculum: Set curriculum provided
- Classroom setup: Teachers have their own classrooms
- Overtime teaching and work available at 20,000 won per hour

(10 months out of the year)

MWF TTH
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Prep. Time 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Prep
4:00 - 5:50 p.m. Class 1 4:00 - 6:50 p.m. Class 1
6:00 - 7:50 p.m. Class 2 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Class 2
8:05 - 10:00 p.m. Class 3

Summer/Winter Intensive Program Time Table
(2 months out of the year: January & August)

8:45 a.m. Report to Work
9:00 - 12:00 p.m. Class 1 (15 minute break at 10:30)
12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Lunch and Prep Time
2:00 - 4:55 p.m. Class 2 (10 minute break at 3:30)
5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Class 3 (15 minute break at 6:30)
*If you teach Class 3, it would be considered overtime pay

Monthly Salary with housing: 2.0 to 2.4 million won
Salary without housing: 2.4 to 2.8 million won

all seems like so much hype for a normal thing - till you get to the 'intensive camp' for TWO MONTHS out of your year for NO EXTRA PAY?!?
unless you are the type of person who owing to some massivly traumatic personal grievance REALLY likes those things (there are people out there who do right?), its totally out of order..

That's a lot of work for "2.0 to 2.4" which you can bet might mean 2.1 per month. I don't like these salary range offers either. "Um, I'll take the high one." I don't know for sure but that sounds to me like a school that thinks highly of itself but does not treat teachers quite so highly. Those intensives are rough too, and that is a long day. Long classes can be a drag too. It might be a good job, but it doesn't look all that great on paper.
