The Korean teachers at my school all seem to think I was fired. I've heard this from a number of places. All the foreign teachers seem to have heard it from a Korean teacher.

This has me more than a little concerned. I was definitely not fired, and I am concerned they were aided in this conclusion, maybe by overhearing my supervisor talk with potential employers.

What would you do? I'm at a total loss.

No, I'm not going to say who or where it is. It's a huge corporate hagwon, and it would be bad for their reputation if I shared why I quit.

You quit? Who cares if they think you were fired?

My last job, when the two guys quit showing up cause they weren't getting paid, she claimed they broke their legs skiing. When I didn't show up cause I was at labor court, I apparently hurt my leg in taekwondo. When I didn't show up cause she didn't pay my rent and I HAD NO APARTMENT ANYMORE she told them that my family was sick and I had to go home.

I called parents whose phone number I had and soon everything was straightened out.

From the school? They aren't going to give a bad reference because libel laws are so strong here that you could turn around and sue their asses. But they will try to save face amongst the other employees and parents.

If you quit then it looks like the school was bad. If you were fired then it looks like you were bad. Which one will the school choose??????
