In the photo that he entered Thailand, it looked like he was going to start growing that beard.

His biggest mistake was immediately contacting his boyfriend and going into the middle of nowhere (his bf's area) for hiding. Almost too obvious. Plus he had posts on here about wanting to bring his male Thai *friend* to Korea to visit, plus the *friends* house in that part of Thailand with the drinking at 10am post.

They immediately went to his boyfriends phone logs and got him. I always heard that if someone goes into hiding, they most often contact the people closest to them who'd they trust. Always basic instinct, although you'd think it would be better to just 'start again' far far away. Ah well, he was screwed no matter what if traveling on that passport, etc.

For some reason that picture makes me think of time travel.

Paedophiles are the lowest life form on this planet, and I do not wish to defend peadophilia, however the guy is innocent until proven guilty, and until he is proven guilty in a court that respects the rule of law he should not be paraded in front of the media. Disgraceful behavior on the part of the Thai police,

He admitted, "I knew this day would come."
Quote:

Christopher Paul Neil, 32, was captured in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, where he allegedly had been hiding with the help of a Thai friend.

Police said Neil had rented a house with the friend and had contact with him on previous trips.

"I think he knew we were coming," said police Col. Paisal Luesomboon, who was in the five-man team that made the arrest.

"He knew that there was an arrest warrant issued and that his face was posted everywhere."

Several Thai boys had earlier come forward to say that they had been abused by Neil, and police - who had been tracing Neil's network of friends - had expressed confidence he would not escape their dragnet.

Neil was in handcuffs and had a blue shirt draped over his head as officers led him into national police headquarters after he was driven to Bangkok, about 210 kilometres from where he was arrested.

He made no comments to a waiting horde of reporters.

He also remained silent when he was presented to journalists at a news conference, where the shirt was removed from his head but his eyes remained hidden behind a pair of sunglasses.

Police, however, described how they had tracked him down.

On Thursday night, they traced a phone call made by a 25-year-old Thai man whom Neil was previously known to be in touch with, said Col. Paisal, superintendent of the Tourist Police Division.

Police earlier said the man had arranged some of Neil's alleged sexual liaisons with boys, but Paisal did not describe their relationship at Friday's news conference.

They found the Thai man, whom they described as a transvestite, in the northeastern province of Chaiyaphum. He told police he knew of Neil's whereabouts and on Friday morning led them to a rented house in neighbouring Nakhon Ratchasima province where the Canadian was allegedly hiding.

"Then he said he knew this day would come, because a Thai court had issued an arrest warrant. He said he needed a lawyer but hasn't said anything at all since then," Pasial said.

I used to have a Canadian co-worker who came to school wearing glasses like that often. Usually, it was on a Monday.

Must be a Canadian thing.

Innocent people don't run when someone mentions that they've seen a picture of someone who looks like them on Interpol.

Not hard evidence, I know, & it wouldn't hold up in court... but it has me convinced.
