Apparently, I was wrong in bringing only one pair of shoes. I went to a few shoe stores and, to my surprise, sneakers are almost double the price they are back home which is pretty daunting.

Anyways, besides buying fake, what are my other options. Having them shipped makes them just as pricey as they are here.

Not an answer to your question, sorry... How about big shoes, size 12+ US, other than Itaewon? Any online sites here in Korea sell big shoes?

To convert sizes. Size 12 US is 273 (or 275 would be your best bet)

These shoes go up to size 300!!!!

I have VERY large size feet and to get decent shoes that fit I buy them every time I travel to HK to buy them plus simple things like spices etc. That has been the only way I have found to get a good pair of shoes at a decent price.

I usually drop into any ABC Mart shoe store and ask around for about anything in my size that I like. Sometimes I get lucky during a big sale, and there's a pair too big for most Koreans that fits me. I got a pair of Nike's for 40,000 won like that last year. There's one in Myongdong, about 4 mini-shopping blocks East of Avatar, and there used to be one in Kangnam near the Canon USA store, somewhere a bit down the street.

You can also try the Nike store in Itaewon.

Yeah, and I have size 13.5 feet.

Faaack.

Thankfully I tend to make my shoes last a long time. Occasionally this involves duct tape, but hey, whatever works; the one pair of sneakers I brought with me to Korea have lasted over 2 years now!
