My fiancee and I are leaving Korea at the end of December. We are bringing the dog we purchased here. He is up to date on his shots and all that stuff. We have been checking Korean Air's requirements and the dog should be able to fly in the cabin with us. Does anyone have experience with this? We need to buy a crate soon so he can start to be familiarized with it. Does anyone have any ideas where to buy an airline approved pet carrying case? He is a small dog, 5.4 pounds (2.4 kilograms). I have scoured the threads but have came up empty so far, and of course the search function yields about 11,000 topics. Thanks for any advice or information!

I bought a SHERPA bag. I think you can see pictures of them on pettravel.com. It slipped under the seat very easily and is light and sturdy.

I brought my Korean dog back to the states in 2002. I went to the vet told him I was leaving, and he took care of everything. Drew up the necessary paperwork, gave me drugs for my dog (which wore off early -- that's another story) and pointed out the airline approve carriers. If you fly NWA you'll have to buy your dog a ticket ($150) and the carrier has to be 17.5 x 12 x 8 or smaller. The whole process is pretty simple.
