I had my locks changed on my apartment and the head of the school board told my landlords that they were not to enter my place. Now I think I am the talk of the town. I found a green card with a phone number on it in my mail box. I didn't know what it said, I thought it was about garbage pick up in the area. I took it to school and asked one of my co-teachers what it said and she tore it up. I questioned her and she told me it was from a man. I guess he invited me to have a good time and call the phone number. Has this happened to anyone else?
I think the landlords are pissed because I had the locks changed.By the way I am in my early 50's,mind my own business and am usually sleeping by 9pm.
If you are single and female I would suggest living and teaching in a larger community.

I am sorry to hear you have had such an uncomfortable welcome to your new home. I am a single young woman living in small town Korea, and I have had the opposite response. I never expected to feel so safe and welcome in such a small and foreign place.

I'm 63 and live in Andong. I'm not sure if I've ever felt as safe as I do now. Everyone has been wonderful to me.

I didn't have the locks changed, but no one has tried to come in...
I'm sorry you've had a difficult time.

Actually she seems to be quite enjoying her time there. In her 50's and still being approached by the men? Not bad..
