Hi there,
My brother and his wife are having their first child back home in South Africa soon, and I'd like to send them a baby present thats traditionally Korean. Any ideas? I have heard that the Chinese give a red thread bracelet with a chinese lock or something like that, but is there anything that Koreans typically give? I'm looking for both a present for the baby and for them. Thanks! |

Usually a small, baby size SOLID gold ring.
If you want to splash out, get a gold bracelet. Will cost you a pretty penny (the one my mother in law bought for Letty was 400,000 won).
These are *traditional*. |

Got to agree with tzechuk. Baby sized gold ring, they go for about 80-90k won, at least they did last time I got one. No baby gift more Korean.
For the parents, I'd suggest something they can enjoy together, no Korean things come to mind. My best friend gave my sister and her boyfriend a bottle of champagne at my niece's baptism and that went over very well. |
