Does anyone know any compaines that make and produce education games in Korea? I have been looking for this sort of a company for a while now. I did find Tiger English but it looks as though they have not done any updates for a while.
If you could please post some places that I may be able to talk with someone, it would be much appreciated!

to hell with finding a company. start your own company. there's obviously an open market for this product. start small and hit the pavement marketing to hagwons. certainly no shortage of potential customers. sell your first game for W30,000 to only 10 schools and that's half a plane ticket to thailand right there. |

You have to make the game, right? You are looking for manufacturers?
I know a company that does the graphics on packaging like cellphone boxes + the boxes, but for a small run as 100 games ... not sure on the pricing or desire to fulfill the request.
Have you made out a patent application? |

Most games can't be patented. Names can be copyrighted. Look at Jengga. There are many knock-offs. All you have to do is go to E mart to see for yourself.
Hotel King is a copy of Monopoly.
Games are tricky, but good luck.
I am thinking along the same path you are. |

Try the kotesol conference at Sookmyung University october 27/28. Last year there were reps there from all the major text publishers as well as some smaller-scale companies flogging educational game materials. Good chance to see whats new & out there & maybe connect. |

Thanks for your help!!
A freelancer is doing some drawings for me at the moment. I have about 200 of the 500 I need. There are 12+ games so far. They start at the kindy level and got to about grade 6 or so.
I've looked into copyrighting as well as other options. I just think it's going to be a little too expensive for me to do on my own. I want to sell to hagwons, schools, and they can be even used at home. Also, I'd like to sell them outside Korea.
About the manufacturer, I have been in contact with a company in China and they be able to produce them at an excellent price.
I don't really have any experience dealing with companies and I don't know how I would be able to market these games by myself. I've been working at this for a long time now and am ready to get the ball rolling very quickly.
I will attend Sookmyung on the 27th/28th of Oct.
I hope all works out well!! |
