Who is hungover? How do you feel? Are your hangovers ten times as bad here than your home country? |

Yes, I drank soju and Korean beer last night and feel like an old person in bad health. To help me get over it, I drank 4 liters of water already today and will drink another 4 liters by morning.
Yes, my hangovers are 10 times worse due to chemicals being added to alcohol in Asian countries. Why they ruin the quality with some sort of chemicals is beyond me. The Korean beer doesn't taste too bad and it's good beer, but they are adding unnecessary chemicals which ruins it. Have you noticed how dehydrated, achy, and exhausted the beer makes you compared to beers like Budweiser and other western beers?
Korean Budweiser is practically identical to that produced in America due to product standardization. To put my claim to the test that I have proved to myself time after time. Drink a 12 pack of Budweiser and see how you feel compared to the same amount of Korean beer which is about 6 big glass bottles.
They really need to take the added chemicals out and just use the basic natural part of the recipe they already have. |

Yeah I have a blinding headache, can barely move, the heat is too much but the air con makes it too cold. Its like illness. Not saying that hangovers in England arent bad but jesus christ NOTHING compared to this....As soon as I woke up I knew the day would be a write-off!!! I lived in Prague for a bit too, and the beer there is so fresh and clean I could drink that all day and night and not be hungover. |

I'm of the belief that the severity of your hangover directly correlates to the quality of the booze consumed. I can quaff nice beer and wine til the day is long and not feel any significant after effects. Soju, on the other hand, makes me feel like I'm coming down from a bad acid trip. |

Call me crazy, but I like soju now. We are at least acquaintances. Enemies no longer. |

Korean beer is chemically fermented to speed its production and is full of preservatives and shit. That's why it gives such bad hangovers. I wouldn't trust Budweiser to be much better, especially not the Korean Budweiser. |

The viciousness of Korean hangovers is the stuff of legend.
I've always suffered from hangovers but they REALLY seem to kill me here.
I think it's down to chemicals being added like other posters have said but I also think dirty taps and pipes, really smoky bars, and the fact that bars dont close til after dawn have an effect too...
I've noticed that I feel much better if I drink draft beer from somewhere like Garten Beer or Beer Plus than I do at small Hof's and 'expat bars' - maybe they get better beer or just take better care of it.
These days I try to avoid draft, NEVER drink Soju and NEVER NEVER drink Soju and beer together.
Good luck, Korean hangovers are hell, they last 2 days or more with me if I really overdo it. |

Thailand and Taiwan- same problems with the local beer.
I can go to Tokyo or Vancouver and drink beer all night and feel not too bad in the morning, hung over, but still able to go to work or do whatever I need to do.
If I drink Chang Beer in Thailand or the Ting Tsao, Taiawan or Chinese beer, I get such a bad body stone the next day and my mind isn't all that clear.
The beer in those countries is horrible scheit. |

Yeah soju is a guaranteed blackout, stillhungover to buggery, I cant remember the point when the hangovers stopped being a part of the fun. I used to love going into Uni hungover/still tipsy, now its all doom and gloom. Getting old is crap |

Yep, plus the water Korean beer companies use might not be of the best quality.
I'm a believer in the chemicals give you a hangover theory. If you go to Germany and drink pils, you can get quite pissed without a hangover the mornign after. |

yes i have a nsty hangover as well. A group of friends and I thought it would be a good idea to mix maple syrup into a shot of soju. It tasted good at the time, but now everytime i think of maple syrup i feel like throwing up. In fact just typing this message is making me feel sick. |
