For my current job applications I will soon need a criminal record check. I've heard it's possible to get them done by the Korean police. Is this true? Presumably this info is only based upon my time in korea, so do schools usually require 2 record check, one from korean police and one from my home country?
Thanks

Did you call the EPIK or GEPIK office to find out? That would take under two minutes. Let us know the answer when you find out please.

If you have been here for quite a long time a criminal record check for your time here is usually sufficient. In fact, they may mistakenly believe that it covers your time back home too. Give them the Korean one, and if they pursue another one then give them it at a later date. (considering the time it takes they are usually okay with that arrangement)

How can you get a Korean Police check online? Or how can you check to see if they got your application?

My public school employer wouldn't accept an online police check.

My public school program did accept an online check. I went thru an online firm that did a nationwide check on me. All I did was email the results to my recruiter and mailed a printout to EPIK with the rest of my application files. The recruiter said that an online check was fine, as long as the firm was reputable. Meaning, not a fly-by-night opp, I guess.
I almost went with a fly-by-night, but that site closed down before I could request the check. I guess you could say, it flew away by night.
