Someone uses the line about "Korea: where reason comes to die". It gets more granular than that.

A friend is applying for an MBA program at a Korean university. The university has given her these instructions.

1) Answer four questions in essay form.

2) Each question should be no less than 400 words.

3) The essays should be double spaced.

4) The total document should be no more than 3 pages.

Now wait. 400 words double spaced is about a page and a half. So four question, each 400 words, gosh that would be 6 pages. Ummm. Ummm.

This is pretty much why the top universities in Korea can't crack the top 50 U's in the world.

Maybe they meant Korean words? They're more compact.

I guess that would be a kind of challenge, having to express complex ideas using only words between one and three letters long.

I was thinking the same thing. Top rate business education you'll receive at that institution, no doubt.

I bet it's no MORE than 400 words each, rather than no less. I caught those kind of typos and errors a lot when I was applying to MA programs and PhD programs in the US, too.

Your friend should call or e-mail the administrator, just to be safe.

It's either that or she has to write really small to fit it all within the page range.

To say Koreans are illogical is just slander and racist. Koreans can be just as logical or illogical as any other people.

It would be the same as if I were to say Jews are stingy and money grubers, or that white people are evil with no "jung". It just shows how complacent people like you are when racism is aimed at "other" people.

Man, you love to be offended, don't you. Look at Mindmetoo's avatar. You think he only aims these sorts of things at Koreans? He pointed out a stupid application. Oh noes, assault on Korean honor! To the walls men! Man your battlestations!

What on earth are you talking about, komerican? It's Korean. I mean, it's Koreans. Did I say it's Koreans? When will you ever learn that it's perfectly okay to talk about Koreans in whatever way. Blacks.. Jews.. GOD NO! Shocked Koreans have no PC protection and are bombarded with mean generalizations all the time here, which is actually flattering. Take it that their expectations for Koreans are pretty high.

(I'm not serious about the last part...and I figure Mindmetoo is in fact one of the very benign posters on Dave's.)
