Anyone who has danced knows that dancing is about using your body for expression. The body isn't seen as something pornographic, but rather as something artistic. It's artistic expression, simple as that.
I used to dance, but had to stop due to a knee injury. Plenty of my friends have continued on professionally, and have all either done nude shoots (dance shots), or have actually performed nude.
Why some people consider using the human body in an artistic form such a faux pas, I'll never understand.
If you read her response to it, it seems perfectly reasonable to me. Taking away her pay seems extreme. Her boyfriend (also a dancer) was in the shots with her. I wonder if they docked his pay? |

Even if he was, they probably didn't dock his pay, because it's more socially acceptable for a guy to be topless.
I guess some people just can't get their heads around the fact that not all nude photos are done in a pornographic way. Some can be quite tasteful and beautiful. There is nothing more natural than the human body.
I haven't seen the photos, but I doubt it was raunchy enough to warrant taking away her pay. |

they could see this as free publicity ... especially since they'll probably sell more tickets now!
her boyfriend wasn't nude in the shoot? if he wasn't, he should have been ... since his girlfriend's got the courage to do it. if he was nude, he should be fined too ... gender equality and all that.

Frankly, I don't care how she poses, what she exposes. But I believe the KNB cultivates a certain image, and markets itself accordingly. Which is why the dancers sign a contract. By posing without approval, she has been unprofessional.
And yes, the boyfriend should get punished too.

Docking Salary? Hardly sounds legal.
Maybe they'll start putting a provision like that in our contracts.
Any English Teacher who appears nude in the media will have their pay docked! |
