My downloads are saved to my "D" drive, and now I cannot get into them. I go to the "D" drive, and I click on "downloads", and the drive shuts off.
So, I loged on as "administrator", and made a new account. For some reason the new account can get into the drive, but ty origional one can't.
Any ideas?

"The drive shuts off"?
Perhaps your permissions got messed up? a virus? Do you use 'simple file sharing' or do you set your own permissions?
Log in as the administrator and move the files to the newly created account. If the drive continues to "shut off", then there is a virus or some kind of corruption. |

Need more specifics, you mean the computer re-boots or you hear a click and the drive shuts down?
Is there an actual second drive or is the one drive partitioned? |
