Hey all,
I'll be moving to Korea in the next few weeks and was wondering if there were any home brewers out there. If Korea is anything like some other asian countries, it's where beer goes to die, so I'm hoping to make some of my own.
I've found a few websites to order kits and mixes, but all are in korean. I've heard home brewing is becoming more popular in Korea, anyone out there know the scoop?

Check out The Beer Essentials. It is a store in WA and sells pretty good kits for the beginner. You can get a basic kit for about $100 and up to the delux for about $200. They also sell pretty good equipment if you want to up the volume you produce. |

Hey Stephen,
I have been looking into this as well. I am shipping out in a couple of weeks and the thought of going a year with out some hearty beer makes me very uncomfortable. I figure that hops and yeast will be the most difficult to find. They are cheap, small and will keep for months on end so I am planning on bringing that with me. Malt extract might be difficult but I can always get some off ebay, or have my parents send me some out. Let me know what you find out

www.goodbeer.co.kr has a pretty good selection of stuff, their hop selection is a bit thin but their prices are good given the current hop shortage. The only thing they don't have that I really want is some lactose for my stout. |
