I heard vaguely from an employee at Avalon in Suji. A teacher was fired for basically being boring and not really teaching. I heard he was very shy and didn't really talk during the class. Fair enough. But then they found the teacher dead in his apartment soon afterwards. I heard speculation that the teacher was diabetic and his death could have been (lack of) insulin related.
Anyone know what happened? Because I think the school is trying to cover it up. The employee that told me was told not to leak this incident to anyone as if they are trying to cover something up.

Happens.

I remember a guy I worked with in Tokyo at Berlitz. He didn't show up for work for a couple of days. So they sent people over to his apartment to check up on him.

He had died in his bed.

Diabetic reaction of some sort.

From what I heard the teacher suffered from some sort of disease and wasn't expecting to live much longer.

Supposedly, he came to Korea for one last adventure because he didn't want to stay at home and wait to die.

He has been cremated and his parents have picked up the remains, but aren't releasing any details regarding what actually happened.

My heart goes out to his family. Crying or Very sad

Assuming it gets out, I wonder what the media will do with it.

I've been in Andong since February. About 6 weeks before I came a local teacher committed suicide. His brother was also a teacher here...

Everyone was still upset and talking about it when I arrived. The young man had only been here a few weeks. I believe he was from New Zealand. Death is hard on everyone who knows the person who died, but especially if it's a suicide. Very sad, indeed.

Did anyone hear anything about a Canadian teacher in Yongin who paid little boys to suck him off in Thailand and Cambodia? I heard that there was some sort of international/interpol man hunt for him. Anyone else hear anything along these lines?

I know the details. I know the school is trying to cover it up. I know the parents just wanted to take their son home and didn't care. Nothing more to it than that. He was cremated.
