My friend who is selling me his motorcycle is unable to find the title. He says there might be luck at the cycle shop he bought it at - but that's unlikely...
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should do? |

I've driven a 250 without plates for two years. Take your chances as the likelihood of being stopping is minimal. I have gapped it from a few police checkpoints though.
If you have the plates, then you have nothing to worry about. If you haven't, then find an abandoned bike and nick the plates off that.
And don't crash. |

This is great advice...
... until you and a car collide. At that point then you are liable for all damages to the car, yourself, and your bike - aa well as any medical bills the driver may have. Also you'll face the possibility of criminal charges.... all while lying in the hospital with broken limbs or worse. nice. |

Why not try your local Gu office? They might have it on record, if it was registered, that is. |

If your friend bought it from a legitimate motorbike seller/ repairer, the shop should have a copy. The guy I brought my bike off, kept a copy and told me if I lost mine I could come get a photocopy. Having said that, you'd think if you gave some official the frame serial number they could trace the bike. |
