In an article written by NYT columnist Thomas L. Friedman, he states that, paraphrasing, contrary to what many believe, 21st century will not be defined by the Western Islam conflict but rather by the rise of China and India.
Indeed, when you have two Asian countries that make up close to 40% of worlds population that grow annually by 8-12%, the whole world will be definitely affected by it.

Currently in the US, around 15%-40% of Asian Americans comprise of Ivy League campuss student population and combined with Jewish-American who make up around 25-30%, you are talking about 40-50% that are either Asian-Americans or Jewish-Americans. Add to that, you have around 5-10% what you called freeloading students that have either rich or famous parents (like Bush or Kennedy). Compounding the matter, with increasing globalization, you have millions of students all over the world, who hope to get into Ivy League or other top-tier universities.
As you might have guessed, the competition to get into top-tier universities will be fierce.

Now here comes the question. I have read in NY Times that more and more students are attending after-school institutes such as Kumon Math & Reading Center (Japanese-styled cramming school) to improve their math skills.
Given that many of you have experiences in teaching in Hagwon, have you ever considered opening a Hagwon-like institute when you go back to your country?

I think he means catering to those who can afford and want to get additional tutoring beyond what is offered at school

I agree with the first part of your post, China and India will create waves in Asia. At the rate they are going, korea has no hope. None. Right now the only thing they can do is sell stuff to China and the world, until China gets organized, uses all the 'secret; information sold to them by koreans, and takes over the ship, chip, car, household appliance, and tech toy products.

Ethnicity has absolutely no relevance to the point you were trying to make, if indeed there was one...

...what has the percentage of Jewish-American college students got to do with the price of English in China?
