Don't I see milk products here advertised as containing DHEA all the time? I think that rings a bell anyway. Check your local E-mart and see if the milk or yogurt has 'DHEA' in it--could be one source. |

I think the milk has DHA added. I really have no idea what DHEA is. If DHA and DHEA are the same funky things, wow, great but I really don't drink milk anymore. |

Di-hydroxy-epi-andostronine. It's around. A good way to blow out your liver while getting very angry over very trivial things. It's a steroid but derived from a plant source.
It is a steroid all right! But many steroids can be derived from plant sources although most of them are estrogin analogues.
I suspect that many of the "antics" in Itaewon are based upon DHEA as well as an ephedrine based diet pill sold here that I am not about to name. |

Aw, come on guy. You're not helping much at all.
I waited four years for you to answer my question and all I get is "no idea". |
Whoa, whoa, whoa - calm down there fella. Don't get angry. Try and control the roid rage. |

Dihydroepiandrosterone? Why? So you can take plant sterols that have no effect when metabolized by humans? |

Not a steroid, but a steroid precursor. You essentially start off with Cholesterol --> DHEA--> some other stuff --> 1-AD --> Testosterone
It's way back in the testosterone formation chain. |

From a PubMed article:
CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study suggest that supplementation with 100 mg x d(-1) of either androstenedione or DHEA does not independently elicit a statistically significant increase in lean body mass, strength, or testosterone levels in healthy adult men over a 12-wk period.

Actually, you need to catch up on your chemistry. Testosterone is a steroid hormone...But, DHEA is a also steroid. So is cortisone. Not all steroids are steroid hormones or anabolic steroids.
In any case, experiments have found that it's no more effective as a muscle builder than a placebo. Basically, it doesn't increase testosterone level, so it wouldn't produce 'roid rage' like symptoms. It's not surprise. Although DHEA is a 'testosterone precursor' it is also a precursor of the other sex hormones. You probably don't want more estrogen and progesterone in your body if you want to increase muscle mass, do you? |
