I just woke up with a blister on my eye. The outer white corner is swollen above the surface of the rest of my eye. It feels weird but my vision isn't bothered at all. No pain. No itch. Quite a bit of redness though.

I am pretty sure it was fine until I got in the shower then a blast of early morning stinky water hit me in the eye. I've never had anything like this happen. My gf says it's OK but I don't know for sure. It's a little freaky.

I did some Googling and it sounds fairly common. I've been sneezing a lot this autumn, my nose runs constantly every morning. Is it somehow allergy related.

Or is it stinky water eye disease... ?

Perhaps a good reason to get out work tomorrow?

You mean like a conjunctival cyst? Go see a doctor.

Do you wear contact lenses? I have this problem myself, especially if I've been wearing my lenses too much. It usually only lasts a day. Be more hygienic and if you smoke, don't touch a cigarette prior to putting in or taking out your lenses or touching your eye without washing your hands with soap.

Try to dig it out with a spoon or butter knife.

Nope, I no longer wear contact lenses. I'm not sure what caused it, but after several saline flushes it seems to be subsiding. I guess I'll have to work tomorrow after all.

If it's a sty, my mom said they are caused by peeing in the road. If that's the case, try asking a taxi driver what he does when he gets one.

Failing that, you could always adopt the Rambo technique and cauterize it with the tip of a red-hot blade.

If it's a cyst, I know exactly how you feel. I used to get them all the time when I first came to dirty Korea. Just put a hot cloth, soaked in salt water on it and wait it out. Usually they hurt though, so you probably don't have one.

Or if that doesn't work, go see an eye doctor and they'll prescribe you some antibiotics. If you have insurance, the office visit shouldn't cost you all that much and antibiotics are dirt cheap. Good luck, man.
