The girls looked tired in their short skirts.

The five Wonder Girls -- Sun-mi, Sun-ye, Ye-eun, Yoo-bin and So-hee -- were wearing heavy makeup and their individually unique, funky outfits. "We really feel our popularity when 30-year-old guys ask us for autographs. ..."

So, fifteen-year-olds in miniskirts and heavy makeup are really popular with guys in their thirties?

And check out the flasher at around 1:50 in their music video:

I was going to say something ... but I think I'm pedophiled out.

Thanks for the cultural reference so now I know why all my kids flip out when I say "Tell me..."

Now why are they all of a sudden saying 'shit' like they're spitting it out the side of their mouth?

The guy who mentioned pedophilia is over-the-top in my opinion. It's normal to get a backlash after recent events, but let's not go too far. I don't support silly groups of young girls like these, but the sexual element - though not decent - is not of an explicit or dangerous nature.

pedophilia is not about being attracted to 15 year olds

it's about prepubescent youths

in the west there's a clear and fundamental difference between being attracted to a high school student (Britney Spear's "Baby One More Time" 17 years old, dressed like a schoolgirl in the video) and being attracted to any elementary school aged student (pedophilia)

in the middle is the coming-of-age fuzziness in definition that begins with the tragic twistedness of Lolita and ends with a coming out sweet sixteen birthday.

koreans have no such distinctions it seems nor a fuzzy inbetween

you can see korean men in pc rooms taking inordinate interest in staring at music videos of 7 year old girls and in being attracted to women who act like little girls

it's wrong as we see it but ignored or hushed or accepted, not sure which, by koreans

i don't think koreans would think fortysomething year olds eyeing prepubescents is sick and thus don't feel any uncomfortableness about attraction shown toward 15 year olds

i personally think koreans are corrupt in terms of gender relations on so many levels, and yes it is a value judgement, and one shared by almost all here hopefully, to one degree or another

You are wrong. It's easy to label "Koreans" as thus, but you need to get a better understanding and a more generalised viewpoint, my friend. Few Koreans wouldn't think adjosshis eyeing up "prepubescents" as anything but sick.

You're absolutely right. Even though the age of consent is lower in Canada than here or Japan, in the West we don't sexualize such young ages.

Since I don't follow Korea pop music either, this thread was a revelation to me about the "tell me" bit. Perhaps one of you can enlighten me about something else. One of the 8 year old girls in my church ward (I'm the only foreigner) has started saying in English to everyone she meets, "Come on, baby, come on!" Has anyone else noticed 1st or 2nd graders doing that and, if so, what pop bit is that from?

indytrucks, I fear the answer to my query might make us both slap our foreheads.

So, instead of people coming on here to say there's something wrong with sexual attraction to underage girls, you've all tried to find a way to justify it.

Yesterday somebody was saying they think most men who teach in Asia have disturbing sexual tendencies. How am I supposed to defend you when you say things like this?

Natalia,

Tell them it goes on everywhere, and by the way - you don't have to defend us, we can defend ourselves.

Police: Man began relationship with teen when she was 11

Tempe Police arrested a 27-year-old man after a 16-year-old girl reported he had sexually assaulted her and then admitted to police that they had been dating since she was 11.

The girl told police that Pedro Leon, of Tempe, had sexually assaulted her last month after they broke up. She then provided police with more information about their relationship, including telling them that she and Leon had conceived a child during their five-year relationship.

Leon was arrested on suspicion of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of sexual assault.

ugh....Another craptastic video courtesy of the Wonder Girls.

Burberry man. My elementary students mentioned him yesterday. I haven't heard of one around my school. Confused If there was, there would be hell to pay.

Aren't the Wonder Girls older than 15? Isn't one like 19, 2 17 and 1 15 or some crap like that?
