I am helping a student/friend with his website by editing his work. I don't get paid for this, and I am not asking for cash, because I am not looking to violate my visa. I also said I would allow him to film me doing a comedy skit with a friend and put it on his site, and if anything associated with me is on his site, that it would say I am volunteering, and I would not put the name of my company or my profile on there. I just wanted to know what exactly Korean law says about all this.......I don't want to get deported that's for sure for volunteering to help someone. I have an E2. |

Honestly the best thing I can think of is to call immigration directly. It's kind of a strange situation because you are not teaching, but really just participating in someone's hobby (I'm assuming this isn't a business, but I could be wrong).
Either way, good luck with it. |

Actually, it is a business. However, it is not a teaching or a hagwon.
He does recreation activities in English. I actually teach him at my hagwon and he brings his website stuff during our one-on-one class, so I actually am paid to help him while I am at work. There is nothing illegal in that. He did want to film me and a friend in a comedy skit. Is that illegal? I am not receiving a dime, nor would I ask for any money.
I am just trying to help for a short period of time while he gets his site off the ground. If I had an F visa, I wouldn't care, but I have an E2. |
