I am looking for a Ballet academy, or studio somewhere in Seoul (preferably central). I am looking into taking classes during the weekend, and obviously it would be amazing if the classes were in English. Can anyone help? Thanks! |

I attend ballet at a dance academy in Hongdae called "Hongdae Dance Academy" - as I'm just starting out I can't say whether or not they're on the level as far as the dancing goes, but the instructor sure looks the part. They have a beginner's class on Saturdays from 3:00-4:20pm, with a more advanced class on Tue/Thu 7:30-9:00pm. The main instructor does speak a little English - most of it dance related, if not conversational.
Their number is (02)337-1998 though I'm doubting the instructor-in-training who works the reception desk can respond in English.
They have a Cyworld site too: http://club.cyworld.com/club/main/club_main.asp?club_id=51154649
Good luck. |

I just called, and they said it was 50,000 for ONE WEEK? Seriously? By the way, where in Hongdae is it? |

That hardly seems accurate. I pay 100,000 won (plus a 10,000 won initial fee) for a month of 2 lessons a week, and since I'm a bit behind the instructor is even letting me have a 3rd lesson for nothing extra.
The place itself is about 2 blocks from Hongik University, on the side of the street where the playground/park is, in that direction.
PM me and I can give more exact directions if you're interested. |
