is on demonoid... although it's not due in stores until Friday. Just downloaded and installed it. Lots of interesting little features. Best of all, it runs snappier than Tiger. That's what I love about os x (amongst other things), frequent incremental releases and each release seems to run smoother than previous ones.

Worth a look, imo.

Did you check to see if you got the final version or one of the developer builds?

There have been sketchy copies of Leopard floating around the torrent sites for weeks. I'd be pretty wary of downloading my OS unless i knew for sure it was uncorrupted.

The build number is 9A581 which I've read is the gold master retail version.

So far lots of nice little touches. The workspaces look useful and the time machine thing looks promising. Doesn't feel like a major upgrade but for me, the extra speed/snappiness alone makes it worth the price (download). Mail, Safari, iLife etc are all noticeably faster.

Intel Core 2 Duo, which might explain the speed increase since (apparently) Leopard has been optimized for dual-core processors.

Yep Leopard is awesome, I got to play around on a developer copy and really liked it. If you are into purchasing the OS for support and warranty purposes it is only $129 for a full version. Check out www.9to5mac.com for a tonne of info about leopard and its features. The new front row features are pretty cool as is the stacks feature and of course cover flow.

I've been wary of the build version torrents. I'm waiting for someone to put it on rapidshare.com so I can get it off there quickly. I haven't tested any of the builds. I want the retail version, I'm rather disappointed the education discount it only $3 this time.
