I'm going back to the U.S. on Dec. 2 and my ARC expires on Nov. 30th. The administration at the hogwan I work at insists that I do not need to contact immigration for an extension. I was under the impression that I would be fined for every day over the expiration date on my ARC.

Who is correct?

You are correct. The 30th is a Friday, and you fly on Sunday. You can work the Friday. Just take your plane ticket to immigration and get an extension for the couple days. They will do it free.

And if you mess up anyway, you'll just need to go to an office at the airport and they'll most likely give you a stamp and send you on your way with no fines.

If you want to legally work on the first of December, there is some paper work that is involved, and they need to pay for an extension. I have teachers at my campus who need to extend for 3 days so they can work legally, and I need to make an ammendment to their contract, plus pay an extension fee.

Well, the thing is I think they want us to work the 1st. I guess I just need some clarification on when exactly our last day of work is... If they want us to work on the first do they know they will be paying the extension fee? I think they think we just go to Immi. and everything is good and easy...Who should I talk to about this?
