it's not that big of a deal. Most universities want to hire instructors who are older and seen as more mature - i.e. less likely to date students.

Yeah, the unis often look for people above 30. Mid 30s is a good age, especially.

If their questions bothered you more than you wanted a job with them, you could just walk out if they ask somehting offensive.
