Need your advice for this one.

I've resigned and finished my contract on Friday, no hassles there. My director she she'd tell immigration that my last day was Monday 29th Oct as she knows I don't leave SK until Monday 12th Nov which is in 17 days - not 14 days.

Now she's changed her mind and will report my last day being Fri 26th Oct which means when I leave SK I would have over stayed by 3 days.

I've heard that they're are fines for this. Does anyone know the amount? Or can anyone explain what potential trouble I can be when I leave?

I've already booked my ticket out of SK and my Chinese tourist visa starts on the 12th Nov so its not as if I can leave a few days earlier for my trip.

Any advice on what I should do?

Do some serious brown-nosing and see if she'll go back on her word.

You should have really got it in writing.

I tried that before and she hung up on me. She's going tomorrow.

I checked back through the forum and someone mentioned its 100,000 fine per day and that it depends on the official at the time.

Well i guess its just proof that its a good thing I left and this is the last thing she can do.

Maybe you can go to immi and show them your plane ticket and hope for the best. You might get lucky. I heard the fine was 120,000 won a day.

Sounds like she's just trying to make life difficult for you. All you need do is provide your local immigration office with a photocopy of your outbound airline ticket & apply for a 2-3 week extension. The Immig, office & phone number details are on your ARC (Alien Registration Card).

I got a 3 week extension with no problems.

If all else fails you can go to immigration and get a 30 day tourist visa. It may cost 30-50,000(not sure on price), but it's better than the 300,000W fine you'd be looking at for overstaying

I've done this also with no problems. I got one day, three should be no problem as long as you have a plane ticket in hand.

if you have a scan of your exit ticket...
