International calling card might work.
My wife pays some company 30K and they give us 12 hours landline calls, or about 5 hours mobile calls.
There are also many cheap calling plans from the UK, which can be an interim measure for people to call you.
My family use www.telediscount.co.uk
EDIT:2p/min LL, 10p/min MOB
Many countries there.
