Steve Colbert Reaches Double Digits in Polls
Quote: |
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that Colbert is preferred by 13% of voters as an independent candidate challenging Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Rudy Giuliani. The survey was conducted shortly after Colberts surprise announcement that he is lusting for the Oval Office.
The result is similar when Fred Thompson is the Republican in the three-way race. With Thompson as the GOP candidate, Colbert earns 12% of the vote. |
Yes, I know it is a farce. So is the idea of Ron Paul winning a primary.
Sad reflection of the GOP:
Quote: |
Colbert does particularly well with the younger voters most likely to be watching his show and therefore most aware of his myriad presidential-like qualities. In the match-up with Giuliani and Clinton, Colbert draws 28% of likely voters aged 18-29. He draws 31% of that cohort when his foes are Thompson and Clinton. In both match-ups, Colbert has more support with young voters than the GOP candidate. |

You're right. At least, you are if Americans remain as freaking stupid as they have been the last seven years. |

Stephen Colbert more popular than RP? Say it isn't so!! OH It's just propaganda put out by the media bosses to discredit RP's campaign because it is starting to threaten the power elite. Yes, that's it. Whew! (distored) World view back in order. |

Colbert Nation Quickly Colonizes Facebook
Quote: |
What amazed me the most was how [Barack] Obamas 1 Million Strong Group took more than 8 months to get about 380,000 members, but Colberts 1 Million Strong Group took less than a week to get 750,000 members, he wrote in an e-mail message Wednesday.
By Sunday, the group had grown to more than 1.13 million, making it easily the fastest-growing political group in Facebooks four-year history. |

I don't agree. This is just the result of Colbert being very talented and having a nightly show and a nation-wide reputation. Why wouldn't some of his fans take two minutes to sign up?
Forty years ago Pat Paulson 'ran' for the presidency. He was a comedian on the Smothers Brothers Show. Good fun. |

Better At Getting Banned In Korea?
Here's part of what a friend's email reads:
I can now no longer access Ron Paul's website in South Korea. It has been flagged by someone as subversive. I get a big government shield with a big red X on it!
No problem going to Giuliani, Romney, Obama, or Clinton's sites.
It's not the first time I've seen this sort of thing. I tried to tell my students about some video games in the states and they are also banned.
This just happened between 4:00 and 5:00 PM October 31st. |

i would be willing to bet that at least 90% of those 1.13 million people in the group don't even vote. |

Ron Paul's Iowa dreams becoming more real
Presidential hopeful gets chill from GOP establishment, but wins admirers
By Tom Curry MSNBC Oct. 31, 2007
DES MOINES, Iowa - Rip Van Winkle slept for 20 years and woke to find the world had passed him by. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, woke up one morning recently to find that perhaps America has caught up with him.
Paul, 72, has had a 32-year career in the House. But some voters have just now discovered Pauls constitutionalist, individualist, just bring all the troops home creed.
Last weekend in Iowa, Paul, running for the Republican presidential nomination, was greeted by 700 whooping fans at Iowa State University in Ames and another 300 at a rally in Des Moines.

I have to say that was a pretty good article. Did a good job in explaining RP's appeal to people out there. |
