Okay, so I have three misdermeanors.
Bounced a check (theft by check) when I was 17 (in Texas it goes on your adult record at 17), Criminal Trespass (Got drunk in college, we climbed a graintower.), and Driving with a Suspended License.
I actually will probably go back to Texas after my contract and get these sealed since they were years ago. Just need to lawyer up. Once sealed they won't show up I think. Not sure how that works...
Anyway...
So in Korea you cannot teach public school if you have a criminal record. I was reading that you will not get a visa if you have sexual or drug related crimes on your record. Does this mean I can now teach Public School? Or am I still Hakwon locked?

I'm not too sure if I'll come back to Korea anymore. I might go to Taiwan because I don't feel like dealing with the hassle of an interview, background check and the time processing for degree verification. Most of my fellow teachers don't plan on coming back either.
My friend brought up a good point. She wanted to teach summer camp when her contract is up in May and then go home. Now can she even do that without going home first?

If you have to go home each year this will be a pain in the butt. My school has 4 out of six teachers visas expiring in Feburary. Are they just supposed to get replacement teachers for a week?

So... that said, where will you go next: Vietnam? China? Taiwan? |
