Thai hunt intensifies for Canadian wanted for alleged sex abuse

| I just lived in Kitchener less then 6 months ago. Plus my home town is right next to Kitchener. I may be next, this is getting to close. I can just see my parents phoning me now asking about my trip to Thailand. |

| Canadians out number all the other nationalities teaching in Asia, so there would be a higher proportion of paedophiles of Canadian origin than there would be of other nationalities. |

| I think the real story behind the headlines is that the Thai police are finally doing what they should have been doing for years. Hopefully with all the attention these cases are getting in Canada it will send a clear message that the likes of Neil and Mader are not welcomed in Asia, particularly amongst the TEFL community. |

I think what really happened is that they found a computer, or were giving links to the guys in an underage porn ring associated with Peter Jackson.
They probably tracked IPs and posts. |

Yet tghis chap is now out on bail, and the only thing he had on his computer appears to have been normal porn.
It's not a good time to piss people off or you might get setup. |

Follow the story up and it appears that was just press over exagerating.

Lets wait and see the offense he will be convicted of. Again, I am not trying to 'free' him, just reporting the facts as they are presented to me. We can get emotional (like me yesterday) or we can get rational and asses the information as it comes in. Now, there is a great deal of mis-information floating around, there is a lot of blatant lies in the media and there is a lot of crap being spoken, can we all agree that the (future) court conviction is the one thing we should all judge this man on?
The charge sheet will take a few days as I have to rustle up a fax machine, but rest assured you will have it, if you can remain civil. The correct word is 'alleged', lets all keep that in mind until he is actually convicted of something in a court of law, not a court of public (media) opinion.
