Ever noticed certain businesses that sit there doing no business what-so-ever? Like you're the only guy who has walked in there the entire afternoon, and you just looked around and walked out because the prices were outrageous?

Many of them are located in really freakin' high-rent locations, too. How do they stay in business? You might think, "Oh, they're selling stuff on the web..." but when it's some 70 year-old guy, I'm not so sure.

I see some businesses with a lot more people end up closing for whatever reason, but some places, which never have customers, keep going.

Are these places fronts for money laundering?

i've often wondered that about the "liquor stores" - you know the places..lot's of wood shelving..dusty bottles of wine and whiskey - all overpriced...and never any customers.

This is the difference between Owning the building and renting the building.

If you rent a building you are forced to be profitable, otherwise you have to close.

If you buy a building, you don't have to be profitable, but no one wants to buy you out either, because price might be too high, so they are stuck doing the business.
