What's the story about work permits if you do a runner. I am under the impression that you can leave the country surrender your Korean ID and come back in and get a new job. My last job advertised my job without telling me, so on principle I packed up and left. They now have a teacher to replace me.

Am I screwed. I went to immigration and a Kyopo was translating for me. According to the information I got it is possible to go to Japan, surrender your ID and come back in.

My last job refuses to give me a letter of release.
